Lukaku arrival changes the game
Belgium coach Rudi Garcia turned to Romelu Lukaku in the 66th minute, and the striker made an immediate impact. Within seconds of entering the field, Lukaku pressured Egypt's backline as Thomas Meunier whipped a dangerous cross into the area. The ball was deflected into his own net by Mohamed Hany, drawing Belgium level.
Egypt goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir and the Pharaohs' defence held firm as Belgium pushed for a winner in the closing stages, ultimately preserving the draw.

Both teams take one point from Group G, with the standings set to shift when Iran face New Zealand later. Egypt next face New Zealand in Vancouver on June 21, before concluding the group stage against Iran in Seattle on June 26. Belgium will meet Iran in their second fixture before facing New Zealand in their final group match.
