Eriksen himself expressed gratitude toward the Lower Saxony club, calling it a great pleasure to have represented them, while noting that his priority now is to be near his family in Denmark.

"At the moment, it is important for me to be close to my family in Denmark. I'm pleased that we were able to find a solution together," the midfielder said.

With his Wolfsburg deal now dissolved, Eriksen is a free agent. Having not featured since June, any decision about continuing his playing career appears a matter for the future.
