Former Juventus striker Gianfranco Zigoni has weighed in on the incident involving Hellas Verona forward Gift Orban, saying the Nigerian was clearly on edge when he physically confronted a supporter after a Serie A defeat.

The altercation took place in the car park of the Stadio Bentegodi following Verona's 1-0 home loss to Milan on Sunday. A fan made a comment that prompted Orban to stop his car, step out, and confront the supporter — all in full view of other fans who had gathered hoping for an autograph or a photograph with the player.

Zigoni's verdict

Speaking to Tutto Mercato Web, the 81-year-old Zigoni acknowledged that Orban's state of mind was evident but insisted the player should have taken a different approach.
