Wolverhampton Wanderers have brought in Comoros international winger Rafiki Said from Belgian club Standard Liege on a three-year deal, with the option of an additional 12 months. The fee has not been disclosed.

The 26-year-old is the first signing made by new head coach Cesar Peixoto, and arrives at Molineux as the third player through the door this summer, following the arrivals of Kieran Trippier and Raul Jimenez.

A productive season in Belgium

Said made an immediate impact in the Belgian top flight, registering eight goals and five assists across 37 appearances during his sole season with Standard Liege — a return that clearly caught the attention of Wolves' recruitment team.

The left winger began his professional career with French club Brest, making his senior debut in September 2021. He subsequently had stints with Nimes and Troyes before crossing into Belgium last summer.

A proven international performer

Said has been a consistent presence for Comoros at international level, scoring eight goals in 21 senior appearances for his country. He was an ever-present during Comoros' Africa Cup of Nations campaign last December, playing every minute of their tournament.

Manager Peixoto wasted no time in spelling out exactly what he expects Said to bring to the club.
