Wolves in Talks to Bring Back Jimenez on a Free Transfer

-4 d·1 min

Wolverhampton Wanderers are in negotiations to re-sign striker Raul Jimenez on a free transfer, following his departure from Fulham at the end of the month.

Jimenez, 35, was named by Fulham on Monday as one of several players set to leave the club when his contract expires. Talks over a return to Molineux are now understood to be under way.

A record-breaking spell at Molineux

The Mexico international's first stint at Wolves ran from 2018 to 2023, during which he netted 57 goals in 166 appearances. His 40 Premier League strikes make him the club's all-time top scorer in the English top flight — a record that underlines just how central he was to the Wolves project during that era.

On duty with World Cup hosts Mexico

Jimenez is currently representing Mexico at the FIFA World Cup, where the hosts open their campaign against South Africa on Thursday. The tournament presents a high-profile backdrop to his club future, with Wolves watching closely as negotiations continue.

Wolves look to rebuild after relegation

The West Midlands club finished bottom of the Premier League last season and were relegated to the Championship. Re-signing Jimenez would represent a statement of intent as they look to mount a promotion challenge, with a familiar face potentially leading the line once more at Molineux.
