Ujenzi Upya wa De Zerbi kwa Tottenham Unaanza Vizuri na Ishara za Matumaini

Roberto De Zerbi arrived at Tottenham Hotspur under enormous pressure, and the circumstances of their Premier League survival on the final day of the season were nothing short of dramatic. As West Ham United secured a late victory over Everton, and with Xavi Simons stretchered off with an ACL injury, fear gripped large sections of the fanbase. Through it all, De Zerbi projected calm — and his confidence proved justified.

Defensive reinforcements lead the way

The Italian's rebuilding project is already in motion. Deals for Marcos Senesi and Andrew Robertson are expected to be formalised within weeks, once contracts at their current clubs expire. Spurs are also pursuing Manchester City winger Savinho, having failed to sign him last summer when Pep Guardiola opted to retain the Brazilian. Reports suggest Savinho is eager for the move, feeling he has not had the opportunity to demonstrate his full potential at Manchester City.

The defensive focus is deliberate. Tottenham have been too easily dismantled over the past two seasons, and their first signings under De Zerbi are set to address that fragility. Jan Paul van Hecke, of Brighton & Hove Albion, is also a target, with talks continuing despite an opening bid being turned down. Brighton are not easily moved in negotiations, but with van Hecke entering the final year of his contract, Spurs may yet get their man. De Zerbi has spoken warmly of his former Brighton & Hove Albion players, describing them as his children.

Romero's future under scrutiny

While players arrive, others may depart. Radu Dragusin is seeking regular first-team football, and with no European competition on offer, a move to Serie A — where interest has been noted — is considered a realistic possibility this summer.

The more complicated situation surrounds club captain Cristian Romero. His uncertain availability for Spurs' final home match was a damaging distraction during a tense relegation battle, and there is a view within the club that this summer could be the moment to part ways if a suitable offer arrives. De Zerbi acknowledged the supporters' frustration fully, saying he understood their anger
