British broadcasters BBC and ITV have confirmed how they will share coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2026, with a full schedule of group-stage matches now assigned to each channel ahead of the tournament kicking off on 11 June.

Scotland's historic return

One of the headline moments for BBC viewers will be Scotland's return to the men's World Cup for the first time since 1998. The BBC will broadcast Scotland's opening group fixture against Haiti on 14 June, as well as their final group match against Brazil — a clash that has already captured the imagination of Scottish fans.

Scotland's meeting with Morocco, meanwhile, has been assigned to ITV.

England's fixtures split across both channels

England's group matches are divided between the two broadcasters. ITV will show their opening Group L fixture against Croatia on 17 June, while the BBC picks up the second game against Ghana on 23 June. The final group match against Panama on 27 June goes to ITV.

Should England advance, the BBC holds the rights to their round of 32, round of 16, and semi-final fixtures — providing manager's side progress through each stage.

Star-studded games for BBC

Defending champions Argentina will have two group matches on the BBC — against Algeria on 17 June and Austria on 22 June. The BBC will also broadcast two group games each for 2022 finalists France, five-time champions Brazil, Netherlands, and Portugal.
