Scott McTominay has revealed that his move from Manchester United to SSC Napoli has done far more than reinvigorate his football — it has completely overhauled his sense of style.

Speaking to GQ, the Scottish midfielder said he has fallen for Italian fashion, embracing tailored clothing and a more refined approach to personal presentation since settling in Naples.

"I love the clothes here, man. The clothes, the way that people dress, and the fabrics that they use. I've enjoyed getting used to that sort of life of presenting yourself really, really well," McTominay told GQ.

He added that he now works with a personal tailor and gravitates toward understated pieces free of heavy branding — a noticeable shift from his Manchester days.

"Whenever you wear the clothes, you feel good, and it's nice to be like that. Obviously, whatever the people say about what I wear, I can't really control that. I just really do like the clothes."

A new look to go with a new chapter

McTominay also addressed his longer hairstyle, which has attracted attention since his arrival in Italy. He admitted the change was unplanned — the result of simply finding something that felt right rather than any deliberate reinvention.

"I never once thought, 'I'm going to grow this to a certain length,' or whatever. When I was in Manchester, I changed my hair quite often, whereas now I've found something that I feel comfortable with, and I actually enjoy having longer hair. It's a lot easier, to be honest."

A historic debut season

The style evolution has coincided with the most productive season of McTominay's career. He played a pivotal role in SSC Napoli's fourth Scudetto triumph — their first Serie A title in over three decades — finishing as the top-scoring midfielder in the league with 13 goals and six assists across 39 appearances in all competitions.

That contribution has elevated McTominay to icon status at the club, making his Italian adventure one of the most celebrated transfers in recent memory.
