Mofokeng told FIFA.com: "We will fight to go as far as possible. We truly believe in our ability to achieve this; we will trust in God and give everything we have to get where we want to be."
Recovering from a rocky start
South Africa's road to the knockout stage was far from smooth. They were beaten 2-0 by co-hosts Mexico in their opening match before recovering with a hard-fought late draw against Czechia. The win over Korea Republic represented their finest display of the tournament.
Mofokeng reflected on the squad's growth across the group stage, noting that the ability to learn from setbacks was central to their progress.
"International football is the pinnacle, and as a national team player, you have to evolve constantly. Continuous improvement is essential, both as a player and as a person. You must learn from past mistakes to sharpen up for the next match; failing to do so only leads to defeat. We grew into the tournament game by game, and that is what matters most in football." — Relebohile Mofokeng
