Nwakaeme Bows Out at Trabzonspor With Turkish Cup Glory

Anthony Nwakaeme has brought his second spell at Trabzonspor to a fitting close, departing the Turkish club as a cup winner after they claimed the Turkish Cup for a record 10th time.
Trabzonspor defeated Konyaspor 2-1 in a hard-fought final on Friday night, with fellow Nigerian Paul Onuachu netting both goals for Fatih Tekke's side to secure the historic title. Nwakaeme, 37, did not feature in the match, remaining an unused substitute throughout the contest.
A farewell worthy of a legend
Ahead of the final, Trabzonspor honoured Nwakaeme and Edin Višća with special appreciation plaques, recognising their dedication and the role they played in the club's successes over the years. Club president Ertuğrul Doğan, vice president Zeyyat Kafkas, and deputy president Nevzat Kaya presented the awards to the departing pair.
Nwakaeme made clear just how much the title meant to him and his teammates, pointing to the supporters as their motivation heading into the showpiece.
