Everton have gone 31 years without a major trophy — and club legend Peter Reid believes the Toffees have run out of excuses to keep waiting. After completing their first full campaign at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Reid says the time to push forward is now.

The last time Everton lifted silverware was on May 20, 1995, when a narrow 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Wembley sealed the FA Cup. Since then, supporters have endured more than three decades of frustration, and patience is wearing thin.

A difficult debut season at the Hill Dickinson

Last season's 13th-place Premier League finish fell well short of expectations. Even more striking was the split in form: Everton ranked 14th in the home table yet would have placed seventh based on their away results alone — a disparity that exposed real problems at their new ground.

Reid, who took part in a legends match at the Hill Dickinson Stadium to mark the venue's opening, points to the psychological challenge of settling into a new home as one reason for the inconsistency.
