Shooting Stars technical adviser Nurudeen Aweroro has spoken with pride and gratitude after guiding the Ibadan club back to continental football for the first time in 27 years.

The Oluyole Warriors sealed a spot in next season's CAF Confederation Cup with a strong showing in the Nigeria Premier Football League, ending a near-three-decade absence from the continental stage. They finished third on the final NPFL standings despite a 1-0 defeat to Niger Tornadoes on the last day of the season.

Aweroro's tribute to the squad

The coach was quick to divert credit away from himself and towards the players and backroom staff who drove the campaign. In a message to the club's management, players, and supporters, Aweroro struck a deeply humble tone.
