Former Nigeria international Dimeji Lawal has come out sharply critical of the Super Eagles following their 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Guinea-Bissau in a Group L fixture of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, played in Bissau.

Guinea-Bissau took control from the outset, with Franculino Dju opening the scoring in the 15th minute with a curled effort that beat goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali. The hosts extended their lead through Mama Baldé in the 66th minute, and Álvaro Djaló sealed the rout deep in stoppage time to make it a commanding 3-0 win.
