Valencia head coach Javier Aguirre has welcomed Umar Sadiq back from a two-month injury absence with genuine enthusiasm, describing the Nigerian striker's return as a joy for the entire squad.

Sadiq made an immediate mark on Sunday night, coming off the bench in the 61st minute to replace Pablo Maffeo and scoring the only goal of the match just six minutes later, handing Valencia a 1-0 victory over Elche CF.

The result ended a difficult run without a win for Los Ches and stands as Aguirre's first victory since taking charge of the club in September.

Aguirre reflects on the win

Speaking on the club's official website after the match, the Mexican manager made no attempt to hide his satisfaction at having Sadiq available again.
