Aina Shines as Nottingham Forest Hold Liverpool to Thrilling 2-2 Draw at Anfield

Ola Aina delivered a standout performance as Nottingham Forest claimed a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday, in a Premier League clash packed with drama from start to finish.
Forest broke the deadlock in the 24th minute through Dan Ndoye, who coolly finished after Morgan Gibbs-White's precise pass split the Liverpool defence. The visitors looked set to hold their advantage into the interval.
Liverpool believed they had levelled matters around the 32nd minute when Florian Wirtz found the net, but a VAR review overturned the goal for offside, leaving the scores unchanged at the break.
Forest's lead wiped out — then restored
The Reds eventually drew level on the hour mark, with Alexander Isak converting to make it 1-1. The Sweden international's finish brought the Anfield crowd back into the contest.
Nottingham Forest refused to buckle. Ten minutes after Isak's equaliser, Gibbs-White went from architect to finisher — turning provider into scorer to restore Forest's advantage at 2-1.
Liverpool, however, are not a side that surrenders without a fight. Victor Munoz struck with eight minutes remaining to secure a 2-2 draw and salvage a point for the hosts.
Aina's role in the contest
Aina, making his second consecutive Premier League start of the season, was central to Forest's resilient display. He was booked five minutes after half-time before being replaced by Luca Netz late in the match.
Looking ahead, Liverpool travel to face Ipswich Town in their next Premier League outing, while Nottingham Forest prepare to host Tottenham Hotspur at the City Ground.
