Ajax Defender Janse Calls Arokodare a Beast Who Is Elevating His Game

Ajax defender Dies Janse has praised Super Eagles forward Tolu Arokodare in glowing terms, describing the Nigerian striker as a "beast" whose presence in training is accelerating his own development at the Dutch club.
Arokodare joined Ajax on a season-long loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers during the summer transfer window, seeking to rediscover the sharpness that made him one of the most feared forwards in Belgium before his move to England.
Raising the level every session
Speaking to fcupdate, Janse explained that the calibre of players Ajax attracts — including guest signings such as Arokodare — creates an environment where young talents can grow at pace.
"The training level at Ajax is very high. Guests have joined where I can learn a lot from. So I'm in a good place to develop myself further," Janse said.
The young defender was particularly effusive about what he picks up from going head-to-head with Arokodare in daily sessions. Physically challenging duels, sharp turns, and holding-up play are among the attributes he credits the striker with helping him sharpen.
"Actually, there is something to be gained in every area: physically, turning and turning and getting stronger. Well, if I can stand against Tolu, that's only good. That's really a beast."
Janse added that the presence of high-profile loan players makes the day-to-day training environment invaluable for a developing defender. "And that's why it's nice that those kinds of guests are added. You learn from that every day," he concluded.
A fresh start for Arokodare
The loan move to Ajax represents a significant opportunity for Arokodare to rebuild his confidence and form. After a difficult stint at Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Super Eagles forward will be eager to recapture the explosive goalscoring form that earned him widespread recognition in Belgian football.
If Janse's testimony is any indication, Arokodare is already making a powerful impression — not just on the scoresheet, but in the daily battles on the training ground where reputations are quietly forged.
