Ancelotti Admits Disappointment After Brazil Held to Draw by Morocco

2 hours ago·1 min

Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti confessed to disappointment after his side were held to a 1-1 draw by Morocco in their opening Group C fixture at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Morocco struck first, with Brahim Diaz threading a perfectly weighted through ball behind the Brazil defence. Ismael Saibari collected the pass and coolly lifted the ball over goalkeeper Alisson to give the Atlas Lions the lead.

Brazil equalised in the 32nd minute through a moment of individual brilliance from Vinicius Jr. Receiving the ball from Bruno Guimaraes wide and deep on the left side of the penalty area, Vinicius cut inside before unleashing a ferocious right-footed strike that flew past Yassine Bounou.

Ancelotti's concerns after the stalemate

Despite rescuing a point, Ancelotti was candid about his team's shortcomings, particularly in the opening half.
