Andre Onana Returns to Trabzonspor on Loan for Second Successive Season
Andre Onana is set to spend another season in Turkey after Manchester United agreed to send the Cameroon goalkeeper back to Trabzonspor on loan for the 2026-27 campaign, according to beIN Sport.
The 28-year-old first arrived at the Black Sea club in September last year on a season-long loan and has now returned for a second consecutive term. The agreement carries no option to buy, and Onana — who still has two years left on his contract at Old Trafford — is expected to rejoin United when the season concludes.
A productive first spell
Onana made 33 appearances across all competitions for Trabzonspor during his initial loan, keeping six clean sheets. He played a significant role as the club claimed the Turkish Cup for the first time since 2020, while Trabzonspor also climbed to third place in the Turkish Super Lig — a sharp rise from seventh the previous campaign.
Limited to a single outing at United
The goalkeeper's time at Manchester United last season amounted to just one match: a penalty shootout defeat to League Two side Grimsby Town in the EFL Cup in August — a result that effectively sealed his swift return to loan football. With two years still remaining on his deal, United retain his long-term registration while Trabzonspor benefit from his experience once more.
