Brazilian winger Antony has spoken out after his family home was broken into while he was playing for Real Betis in their UEFA Champions League fixture earlier this week.
Antony featured in Betis's dramatic 3-2 victory over Porto on Tuesday, providing the assist for Cucho Hernández's equaliser before being withdrawn late in the match. Isco's last-gasp winner completed a historic night for the Seville club, who secured back-to-back wins on their return to European football's top tier for the first time since the 2005–06 season.
The break-in
Two days after the match, Antony took to Instagram to reveal that thieves had raided his home while he was on the pitch. Writing on his Instagram story, the 26-year-old expressed both anger and heartbreak over the incident.
