Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has made clear he wants to stay at Ajax permanently, after a match-winning cameo in the UEFA Conference League lit up the Johan Cruijff ArenA.

Coming off the bench in the 66th minute against Atalanta, Arokodare broke the deadlock in the 87th minute before adding an assist in stoppage time — teeing up Abdellah Ouazane to seal the victory in the 93rd minute. The result handed Ajax their first Conference League points of the season, having fallen to Hajduk Split on matchday one.

Open to staying in Amsterdam

Speaking to LiveScore after the match, the Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee was candid about his happiness in Amsterdam, while acknowledging that any permanent move was ultimately a matter for the two clubs to resolve.
