Arsenal and Al Hilal have moved closer to an agreement over the transfer of Gabriel Martinelli, with both clubs making meaningful progress in recent days.

The Brazilian winger, 25, is seriously weighing up a move to the Saudi Pro League side, provided the two clubs can finalise a fee. As negotiations near a conclusion, a sell-on clause worth 20 percent of any future profit is also expected to form part of the arrangement.

Martinelli had previously rejected an approach from Galatasaray, the Turkish club who made contact last week, underscoring that Al Hilal are his preferred destination should he leave the Emirates Stadium. He has been at Arsenal since 2019 and was part of the squad that won the Premier League title last season.

The winger's departure looks increasingly likely given that he was left out of Arsenal's matchday squad for both the Community Shield victory over Manchester City and the opening Premier League fixture against Coventry.

With Martinelli potentially on his way out, Arsenal are actively exploring forward options ahead of the transfer deadline. Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez remains their primary target.

The club have also been linked with Juventus winger Kenan Yildiz, though that pursuit has been complicated by an injury to his left foot. According to Sky in Italy, Juventus's medical staff are considering a range of treatment options and have not ruled out surgery — a scenario that could keep Yildiz sidelined for several weeks.
