Arsenal Eye Pressure on Manchester City With Trip to Nottingham Forest

Arsenal travel to the City Ground this weekend to face a struggling Nottingham Forest side, with Mikel Arteta's champions eager to close the gap on Premier League leaders Manchester City.
Forest's troubled start under Glasner
Oliver Glasner has had a rough introduction to life as Nottingham Forest manager. His side have lost their last two matches — a 1-0 home defeat to Coventry City before the international break, then a 3-1 loss at Crystal Palace — and are yet to win or score at the City Ground under his management.
Forest are among the Premier League's joint second-lowest scorers this season, and have gone four successive fixtures against Arsenal without finding the net. Another blank could increase the pressure on Glasner, who is barely two months into his debut campaign with the club.
Injuries add to Forest's concerns. Playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White has been absent from training all week after picking up a minor muscle problem at Selhurst Park, and defender Nikola Milenkovic is also considered doubtful for the fixture.
Arsenal's momentum building
The Gunners head to Nottinghamshire in strong form. After their 3-0 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion before the international break, Arsenal have bounced back with consecutive wins — a 2-1 victory over Leeds United in the Premier League and a 3-0 Champions League triumph against Lille — with five different players on the scoresheet across the two games.
Despite a positive recent run, Arsenal have failed to score on each of their last two visits to the City Ground, both finishing 0-0. Arteta will expect that pattern to change this time around, particularly given the firepower at his disposal.
Bukayo Saka is set to start after recovering from a minor illness, with Kai Havertz and captain Martin Odegaard also expected to feature. Arteta may, however, rotate his squad with a Champions League trip to Bayern Munich scheduled for Wednesday.
