Arsenal Move Level with Man City After 2-0 Win Over Everton

Arsenal seized on Manchester City's first Premier League defeat of the season to draw level on points with the leaders, grinding out a 2-0 win over Everton at a rain-drenched Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
Defenders Ezri Konsa and Gabriel got the goals — Konsa with a scrappy back-post finish from a corner for his first Arsenal strike, and Gabriel with a header to seal the result on his 200th Premier League appearance for the club.
Konsa breaks the deadlock
Arsenal had gone into the match without a set-piece goal all season, and Konsa's opener — his first for the club — ended that wait. Viktor Gyokeres, making his first league start of the campaign, earned the assist, adding to the one he registered for Declan Rice's equaliser in the 2-2 Champions League draw at Bayern Munich in midweek.
Everton had a golden opportunity to level things at 1-0 just before half-time when Ben White's weak headed back pass left goalkeeper David Raya exposed. Thierno Barry, however, failed to capitalise, allowing Arsenal to carry their lead into the break.
Gabriel seals it on a milestone night
The Brazilian centre-back recovered from a second-half injury scare to head home and put the match beyond doubt, marking his 200th league appearance in style. Arsenal's relentless pressure across the afternoon reflected the mood at the Emirates — a club aware that the title race had just tightened.
The victory, Arsenal's seventh from eight league matches, leaves them on 21 points — equal to City and separated only by goal difference. David Moyes' Everton, by contrast, have now lost back-to-back league matches after arriving in north London unbeaten. Their search for a first away win of the season continues, as does a run of 14 league trips to Arsenal without a victory.
