Arsenal Set to Approach Aston Villa for Morgan Rogers as Fee Tops £100m

Arsenal have identified Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers as their primary transfer target this summer, with an approach to Villa now expected — although no club-to-club talks have yet taken place.
According to Sky Sports News, Arsenal's interest in the 23-year-old is set to intensify in the wake of England's exit from the 2026 World Cup and following the completion of a £34m deal for Christos Tzolis. Villa, however, are expected to demand a fee in excess of £100m, citing the benchmark set by recent midfielder transfers, including those involving Elliot Anderson and Sandro Tonali.
Villa digs in on Rogers
Manager Unai Emery's side have made their position clear: Rogers is not for sale. Villa are in a strong negotiating position after the forward committed his future to the club by signing a contract extension last November that runs until 2031.
Rogers has been in outstanding form, registering 14 goals and 11 assists across 55 appearances for Villa last season. Since arriving from Middlesbrough for £16m in 2024, he has developed from a promising youngster into a regular England international, earning 21 caps.
At the 2026 World Cup, Rogers featured in five matches and delivered the assist for Anthony Gordon's goal in England's semi-final defeat to Argentina.
Arsenal are not alone in their admiration — Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with the England forward.
Alvarez and Barcola also on Arsenal's radar
Arsenal retain an interest in Julian Alvarez, though a deal appears unlikely. The player's family are reported to prefer remaining in Spain, and Alvarez himself is understood to favour a move to Barcelona.
Bradley Barcola of Paris Saint-Germain is another name Arsenal are monitoring, along with Liverpool. No club-to-club contact has been made in that pursuit either, though the terms of a potential deal have been explored informally.
Paris Saint-Germain are reluctant to part with Barcola, but his situation could shift depending on how PSG's own transfer activity unfolds. The Parisians have been actively pursuing RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande and have also registered interest in both Alvarez and Rogers.
