Arsenal Tipped to Retain Premier League Title as Sky Sports Supercomputer Reveals 2026/27 Predictions

49 minutes ago·2 min

Arsenal are on course to be crowned Premier League champions for a second consecutive season, according to the latest projections from the Sky Sports supercomputer — a model that runs 10,000 simulations to forecast final standings for the 2026/27 campaign.

The supercomputer factors in player availability, fixture congestion, rest periods, historical performance data, and betting odds to generate its predictions, which are refreshed after every round of matches.

Arsenal's commanding projection

Before a single ball was kicked this season, the supercomputer already favoured Arsenal, projecting a points haul of 85.2 — placing them nearly four points clear of their nearest rivals, Manchester City. Results since the season's opening weeks have continued to shape those projections as the model updates in real time.

The predicted table offers a snapshot of where each club is expected to finish come the end of the campaign, covering the title race, the battle for Champions League qualification through the top four, and the clubs most at risk of relegation.

The xG table explained

Alongside the predicted standings, Sky Sports also publishes an expected goals — or xG — table. This alternative view of the Premier League reflects how the current standings should look based on the quality of chances created and conceded by each club, rather than actual results alone.

The xG table can highlight clubs who are outperforming or underperforming their underlying numbers — a useful indicator of whether a team's position in the real table is likely to hold or correct itself over time.

With Arsenal in pole position in both the predicted and xG standings, the pressure is on Manchester City and the chasing pack to close the gap before the season reaches its decisive stages.
