Aston Villa Sign PSG Winger Ibrahim Mbaye for Club-Record £47 Million

Aston Villa have secured the services of Paris Saint-Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye, with the club confirming a club-record deal worth £47 million for the 18-year-old Senegal international.

The right-sided forward arrives at Villa Park having been part of an extraordinarily successful era at PSG, where he collected back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles as well as two Ligue 1 medals during his time with the Parisian club.

Mbaye further announced himself on the global stage at the FIFA World Cup, scoring for Senegal in what proved to be a memorable tournament. His rapid rise has caught the attention of top clubs across Europe, and it is Aston Villa who have won the race for his signature.

Watkins departure paves the way

The arrival of Mbaye comes in the wake of Aston Villa's sale of England striker Ollie Watkins, who departed for Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal in a £51 million deal. Villa have moved swiftly to reinvest a portion of those funds, bringing in one of European football's most exciting young prospects.

At 18 years old, Mbaye represents a significant long-term investment — and at £47 million, he becomes the most expensive signing in the club's history. Villa's recruitment team will hope the Senegal winger can replicate the form he showed at the highest level under the Ligue 1 champions.
