Barcelona Formally Bid to Host 2029 Champions League Final at Renovated Camp Nou

Barcelona have officially submitted a formal bid to UEFA to host the 2029 UEFA Champions League final at the renovated Spotify Camp Nou, with the club confirming all required documentation has been delivered.
In an official statement, Barcelona confirmed the dossier covers every technical, contractual, and institutional requirement stipulated by UEFA, along with the necessary guarantees to demonstrate the organisational capacity of both the stadium and the city.
Institutional backing from Catalonia
The bid carries the support of the Barcelona City Council, the Generalitat de Catalunya, and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), which will serve as the host and co-organising association.
"Barcelona, together with Barcelona City Council, the Government of Catalonia and with the support of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), as host and co-organising association, has formally submitted to UEFA the bid and complete dossier to apply for hosting the 2029 UEFA Champions League Final," the club stated.
Camp Nou's case as a world-class venue
The club described Spotify Camp Nou as Europe's largest stadium by capacity and highlighted its long history as a top-category UEFA venue. Barcelona argues that the ongoing renovation will place the stadium among the most modern and iconic sporting arenas in the world once complete.
"With a long-standing history linked to the biggest stages of international football and currently undergoing a profound transformation that will position it among the most modern, innovative and iconic sporting venues in the world, the Spotify Camp Nou meets all the conditions to become the ideal stage for a UEFA Champions League final," Barcelona said.
What happens next
With the formal submission now complete, UEFA will move into an evaluation phase to assess all competing bids. Barcelona noted they are one of several candidates in what amounts to a competitive selection process.
The decision on which city will host the 2029 UEFA Champions League final is expected during the final quarter of this year.
