Barcola's Hat-Trick Fires Liverpool Past LASK in Champions League Rout
Bradley Barcola delivered a landmark performance on Tuesday night, scoring his first career hat-trick as Liverpool dismantled LASK 6-3 in Linz to bounce back from their 3-0 Premier League defeat to Manchester City at the weekend.
The 24-year-old winger, signed for £123 million in the summer, had endured a stuttering start to life at Liverpool. But in his 238th appearance across clubs and country, he announced himself in emphatic fashion — netting twice with composed finishes using either foot before adding a tap-in after the break.
Florian Wirtz, the club's other marquee summer arrival at £116 million, also impressed with a strong display and an assist, offering further encouragement to manager Andoni Iraola after a difficult opening to both players' Liverpool careers.
