BBC has confirmed the full broadcast team for the 2026 World Cup Round of 16 fixture between France and Paraguay, kicking off at 10pm BST at Philadelphia Stadium.

Mark Chapman, a familiar face from Match of the Day and one of BBC's central figures at this tournament, will serve as presenter for the evening's coverage.

Pundits and commentary team

Three former international players will provide analysis alongside Chapman. Thomas Hitzlsperger, Joe Hart, and Micah Richards — bringing experience from German and English football at the highest level — make up the punditry panel for what promises to be a compelling fixture.

Steve Wilson will be the main voice on commentary, with Stephen Warnock alongside him as co-commentator for the Round of 16 encounter.

The stakes in Philadelphia

France arrive in Philadelphia as one of the tournament's dominant forces. The 2018 champions and 2022 finalists, Didier Deschamps' side have cut through the competition with authority and appear well on course for a third consecutive World Cup final on July 19.

Kylian Mbappe has been in devastating form, registering eight goal involvements across his four appearances at the 2026 World Cup heading into this match.

Standing in their path is Paraguay, who earned their place in the last 16 by defeating Germany on penalties in the Round of 32 — one of the tournament's standout results so far.

The winner of this tie will face the victor of Canada vs Morocco in the quarter-finals, scheduled for July 9 at 9pm BST.
