Belloumi Rescues Hull City Point Against Unbeaten Everton in Four-Goal Thriller

47 minutes ago·2 min

Mohamed Belloumi came off the bench to earn Hull City a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Everton in a second half that produced all four goals, keeping the Toffees unbeaten in the Premier League.

The match at MKM Stadium appeared to be heading Hull's way shortly after the interval when Joe Gelhardt pounced on a costly error from Everton right-back Ainsley Maitland-Niles, chipping a delicate finish over Jordan Pickford in the 49th minute to give the Tigers the lead.

Dewsbury-Hall and Barry turn it around for Everton

Maitland-Niles quickly made amends, however, delivering a precise cross that found Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall — the standout performer on the day — who headed home to level the scores. The goal was also notable as the first Hull had conceded at MKM Stadium this season, coming after a VAR review had already chalked off Brennan Johnson's first-half effort for offside.

Everton pressed for more and created eight big chances across the contest, five of which fell to Thierno Barry. The striker eventually converted, finishing past Konstantinos Tzolakis after Dewsbury-Hall capitalised on a loose pass from Sorba Thomas to tee up the chance and put the visitors ahead.

Belloumi off the bench to rescue a point

Hull refused to accept defeat. Within six minutes of levelling matters, Belloumi — introduced as a substitute having been rested following the international break due to tiredness — drove a low shot past Pickford to snatch an equaliser and secure a share of the spoils for the Tigers.

Everton, despite dropping two points late on, remain unbeaten in the Premier League and will take heart from another display full of attacking intent. Hull, meanwhile, will be encouraged by their resilience and the impact Belloumi made from the bench.
