Besiktas Reach €20 Million Agreement With Arsenal Over Trossard
Turkish club Besiktas have agreed a deal worth €20 million with Arsenal to sign winger Leandro Trossard, according to nowarsenal.com. The package is structured as an €18 million base fee with up to €2 million in performance-related add-ons.
Despite the clubs reaching an agreement, the transfer is not yet complete. Personal terms and wages remain under negotiation, and any formal conclusion is expected to be delayed until Trossard's involvement at the FIFA World Cup wraps up.
A key figure in Arsenal's title-winning season
Trossard, who turns 31 this year, has one year left on his current contract at Arsenal. He arrived from Brighton in January 2023 for £27 million and developed into one of Mikel Arteta's most reliable and adaptable squad players.
Over 174 appearances for the club, he has contributed 36 goals and 34 assists — a record that reflects his consistent impact across multiple seasons. This past campaign, as Arsenal claimed the 2025-26 Premier League title, Trossard was integral to the side's success, making 50 appearances in all competitions and registering eight goals and 11 assists.
Among his most memorable contributions was an 83' winner away at West Ham in May, a goal that helped Arsenal maintain their advantage at the summit of the Premier League table during a crucial period of the title race.
Trossard shining at the World Cup with Belgium
The Belgian international is currently representing Belgium at the FIFA World Cup, where he has started all four of their matches. Trossard has been in strong form, netting twice against New Zealand and providing an assist in a dramatic last-32 triumph over Senegal — a match Belgium won 3-2 after staging a comeback.
With Belgium still in contention, Besiktas and Arsenal are prepared to wait before finalising the remaining details of the transfer. The deal is fully expected to be completed once Belgium's World Cup campaign concludes.
