Bournemouth Extend Winning Run to Eight with Victory at Ipswich

Bournemouth claimed a hard-fought 2-1 victory at Portman Road on Sunday to extend their winning streak to eight consecutive matches across all competitions, moving into seventh place in the Premier League.
The Cherries were gifted an early foothold when Ipswich goalkeeper Christian Walton made a bewildering attempt to dribble around striker Evanilson just five minutes in. Evanilson needed no second invitation — he dispossessed Walton and finished to score in a fifth straight Premier League game.
Davis own goal doubles the lead
Bournemouth maintained control throughout the first half and pushed their advantage further at the start of the second. A Ryan Christie effort struck Ipswich defender Leif Davis and deflected beyond Walton, leaving the hosts with a mountain to climb.
Ipswich offered almost nothing in attack for large stretches of the second half, failing to register a single shot or even a touch inside the Bournemouth penalty area until Jack Clarke converted from the penalty spot in the 73rd minute to set up a nervy finish.
Nine minutes of injury time to hold on
Fatigue and anxiety crept into Bournemouth's play late on, and the visitors had to dig deep through nine minutes of added time before confirming the three points. It was a testament to the squad's resilience that they held firm under sustained Ipswich pressure.
Marco Rose's side now head into the international break sitting seventh in the Premier League table, only three points adrift of the top four.
