Bournemouth Shut Down Arsenal's Bid for Alex Scott

1 hour ago·1 min

Bournemouth have turned down an approach from Arsenal for midfielder Alex Scott, making clear the 22-year-old is not available for transfer this summer.

Arsenal, the reigning Premier League champions, are in the market for a new central midfielder, and Scott has emerged as one of their primary targets. However, Bournemouth have communicated firmly that they have no intention of letting him leave, and are actively seeking to extend his contract, which currently has two years remaining.

Wide interest but firm stance

Scott is attracting attention from across the top flight, with Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, and Chelsea all reported to hold serious interest in the former Bristol City player. Despite the volume of enquiries, Bournemouth's position remains unchanged.

The midfielder earned his first England call-up last November and was subsequently included in Thomas Tuchel's extended pre-World Cup training camp in Florida, though he did not feature in any sessions as an active participant.

Arsenal's other midfield targets

In their continued search for midfield reinforcements, Arsenal have also explored the possibility of signing Newcastle United's Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali. A deal for Guimaraes is currently considered the more realistic of the two options, with Tonali's asking price proving a significant obstacle.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are making concrete progress in their own pursuit of Tonali and are growing increasingly confident of completing a move for the Italy international.

Arsenal's scouting network has also been monitoring West Ham's Mateus Fernandes and Lille's Ayyoub Bouaddi as potential alternatives in their midfield hunt.
