Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of Portuguese right-back Costinha from Greek side Olympiacos on a five-year contract.
The Seagulls are reported to have paid approximately £11 million for the 26-year-old, who spent the past two seasons competing in Greece.
Before his move to Olympiacos, Costinha developed his career at Portuguese club Rio Ave, where he rose through the ranks after joining in 2017 and went on to make 121 first-team appearances. He then featured 74 times for Olympiacos, contributing 12 goals during his time in Athens.
Earlier in his career, Costinha passed through several youth academies before settling at Rio Ave. He earned one cap for the Portugal under-21 side in 2022.
Hurzeler backs new addition
Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler expressed his enthusiasm for the acquisition, highlighting Costinha's qualities on both sides of the ball.
