1 hour ago·2 min

The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has issued a formal Invitation to Tender (ITT) for the sub-Saharan media rights covering the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations PAMOJA 2027, the flagship tournament set to be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda from 19 June to 17 July 2027.

What the tender covers

The ITT encompasses both Free-to-Air (FTA) and Pay-TV rights across the sub-Saharan territory, with broadcast languages including English, Swahili, Portuguese, isiZulu, Wolof, Yoruba, and local languages. French-language Pay-TV rights have been excluded from the 2027 edition of this particular tender.

Interested broadcasters and media organisations have until 14 September 2026 at 17h00 Cairo time to submit their bids. Parties wishing to participate should direct their enquiries to mediasales@cafonline.com and legalaffairs@cafonline.com.

Why this tournament matters

The TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations is the continent's premier football event and one of the fastest-growing competitions on the global stage. The 2025 edition, hosted in Morocco, drew over 3.2 billion TV viewers and generated six billion digital views — placing it third among all national-team football events worldwide, behind only the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA European Championships.

Other competitions on tender

CAF has simultaneously opened media rights tenders for a range of additional competitions. The full list of events included in the broader tender process is as follows:

TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda 2027; the Qualification Competition for TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda 2027; CAF Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations 2026 (final tournament); TotalEnergies CAF Africa U-20 Cup of Nations Ghana 2027; TotalEnergies CAF Africa U-17 Cup of Nations Morocco 2027; Futsal Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026; and TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations U-23 Egypt.
