CAF Rejects Rangers' Closed-Door Request as MC Alger Fans Cleared for Second Leg

CAF has denied Rangers' request to have their CAF Champions League preliminary round second leg played without supporters, ruling that spectators will be permitted at the Ali La Pointe Stadium in Douera, Algeria on Friday evening.
Rangers had petitioned the continental governing body to stage the decisive fixture behind closed doors, citing concerns over the conduct of MC Alger fans. CAF, however, rejected the appeal, clearing the way for MC Alger supporters to fill the stands and cheer their side on as both clubs battle for a place in the group stage.
MC Alger management calls for calm
Ahead of the match, MC Alger's management issued a plea to their supporters, calling on them to maintain discipline, show good sportsmanship, and help create a peaceful atmosphere throughout the 90 minutes.
Rangers carry a first-leg cushion
The Nigerian champions arrive in Algeria with a commanding advantage, having beaten MC Alger 2-0 in the first leg at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta last weekend. Rangers will now look to protect that lead and confirm their passage to the next round of the competition.
