Carrick Dismisses Any Rift with United Captain Fernandes

1 hour ago·1 min

Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick has moved to quell any speculation about unrest in his squad, insisting there are "no issues" with captain Bruno Fernandes following his omission from the starting lineup against Bournemouth.

Fernandes, who continues to wear the armband at Old Trafford, was left out of the side for the clash with Bournemouth — a decision that prompted questions about the Portuguese midfielder's standing within the team. Carrick was quick to shut down any suggestion of a falling-out.

The United manager described Fernandes as "fully committed" to the club, confirming that he will retain the captaincy going forward. The message from Carrick was clear: the decision to drop Fernandes was tactical, not personal.

Fernandes has been a central figure at Manchester United since joining from Sporting CP, and his leadership role remains intact despite the temporary absence from the first eleven.
