Michael Carrick has refused to step down as manager, insisting he has demonstrated enough in the role to warrant continued employment — even as Manchester United sit dangerously inside the Premier League relegation zone.

The former midfielder, who has faced mounting pressure since results began to deteriorate, maintained confidence in his work despite the club's alarming league position. United's standing at the wrong end of the table has intensified scrutiny on his tenure, yet Carrick remained adamant that his record justifies him staying in the job.
