last week·2 min

Celtic are understood to have made contact with Danish club Brondby to enquire about the availability of Bosnia and Herzegovina midfielder Benjamin Tahirovic, 23, according to reports from Denmark.

Meanwhile, three English clubs — Fulham, Nottingham Forest, and Sunderland — are intensifying their pursuit of Celtic's Arne Engels, 22, as the young midfielder continues to attract attention from across the border.

Martin O'Neill set to stay at Celtic Park

Manager Martin O'Neill, 74, was spotted at Glasgow Airport, with reports indicating he is expected to remain in charge of Celtic next season.

Celtic are also set to lose centre-back Stephen Welsh, 26, with Swansea City closing in on a deal for the out-of-contract defender. Welsh — who spent time on loan at Motherwell — has reportedly agreed a two-year deal at the Championship side, with an option for a further year.

Reynolds on Rangers' radar

Rangers have shown concrete interest in American right-back Bryan Reynolds, 24, currently at Belgian side Westerlo. The club are open to selling Reynolds, whose contract expires next year, though they hope to secure a significant fee from his departure.

Reynolds, a United States international who missed out on his country's World Cup squad, is among several candidates Rangers are considering to fill the right-back role vacated by James Tavernier.

Rangers are also monitoring Sunderland's Dan Neil, 24, with Championship clubs Hull City and Middlesbrough also registering interest in the midfielder, who has held preliminary talks with Rangers.

Goalkeeper Jack Butland, 33, is drawing attention from Premier League clubs seeking backup options, but Rangers are said to have no intention of letting him leave.

Russell Martin in talks with Leicester

Leicester are in discussions with Russell Martin — the former Southampton and Rangers head coach — over the possibility of him taking over at the club following their relegation to League One.
