Celtic are pushing hard to secure a deal for Fares Ghedjemis, the 23-year-old Algeria winger currently at Frosinone, as the Scottish champions step up their summer recruitment. The Italian club are asking for €9.5 million for the player, according to journalist Sebastien Vidal.

Frosinone president Maurizio Stirpe has made clear that the club are not under pressure to sell Ghedjemis. However, the Glasgow Times reports that the Italian side are open to listening to offers, leaving the door ajar for Celtic to press ahead with their pursuit.

Arthur loan among other options

Meanwhile, Brentford could sanction another loan move to Celtic for young defender Benjamin Arthur, 20, according to Football Insider. Arthur previously spent time in Glasgow and a second temporary switch to the club now appears to be under consideration.

In other transfer news, left-back Marcelo Saracchi — the 28-year-old who spent last season on loan at Celtic from Boca Juniors — has reportedly moved to Houston Dynamo. Saracchi had been linked with a return to Glasgow, but he now appears set for a new challenge in Major League Soccer.
