Champions League 2026/27 Fixtures Confirmed: Arsenal Face Real Madrid and Bayern Munich

UEFA has confirmed the full fixture schedule for the Champions League 2026/27 league phase, with Premier League clubs Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Aston Villa all learning their opponents ahead of the opening matchday on September 8-10.
Arsenal's blockbuster draw
Last season's European finalists Arsenal face the stiffest challenge of any English club. The Gunners are scheduled to meet Real Madrid C.F. at home on December 9 and travel to FC Bayern Munich on October 21, as well as taking on Borussia Dortmund and SSC Napoli in their eight league-phase fixtures.
Arsenal topped qualifying with a perfect record and will aim to finish inside the top eight to secure automatic passage to the round of 16.
Man City and Aston Villa to host PSG
Holders Paris Saint-Germain visit both Manchester City — on October 14 — and Aston Villa — on December 8. The Villa Park clash is a rematch of the recent UEFA Super Cup, a fixture PSG won 2-1 in Salzburg.
Man City's other notable fixture is a trip to FC Barcelona on December 8, while Aston Villa also face FC Barcelona away on November 3.
Liverpool and Man Utd face Atletico Madrid
Liverpool's campaign includes a journey to FC Internazionale Milano on January 19 and a home tie against Atletico de Madrid on September 9. Manchester United are also drawn against Diego Simeone's Atletico de Madrid, travelling to the Spanish capital on October 13. Man Utd additionally host FC Bayern München on January 20.

How the format works
Now in its third season, the revamped format fields 36 clubs in the league phase. Each side plays eight matches — one home and one away against opponents drawn from each of the four seeding pots. The top eight finishers advance directly to the round of 16, while teams placed ninth through 24th enter a two-legged knockout-phase play-off. Those who finish 25th or below are eliminated outright, with no drop into the UEFA Europa League.
In the play-offs, clubs finishing ninth to 16th are seeded and host the second leg against opponents ranked 17th to 24th. The eight play-off winners then face one of the top-eight finishers for a quarter-final berth.
Knockout-phase schedule
Knockout-phase play-offs: February 16/17 and 23/24 | Round of 16: March 9/10 and 16/17 | Quarter-finals: April 6/7 and 13/14 | Semi-finals: April 27/28 and May 4/5 | Final: June 5, 2027 — Estadio Metropolitano, Madrid
