Nigeria head coach Éric Chelle has drafted Rostov midfielder Ibraheem Mahfus Ajasa into the Super Eagles squad as a late addition ahead of the team's international friendly against Russia.

Ajasa's call-up comes as a direct replacement for Bright Osayi-Samuel, one of three players to withdraw from the squad before the match. Captain Wilfred Ndidi and Akpe Victory also pulled out, with John Otomewo and Vince Osuji named as the other cover signings.

Rostov confirmed the news on their official club website, posting a message of support for their player:

"Ibrahim Mafus Ajasa has been called up to the Nigerian national team for the match against the Russian national team. We wish you good luck!"

The Super Eagles have already commenced preparations for the fixture, which is set to be held at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium on Tuesday.
