Chelsea Close to Signing Roma Midfielder Manu Koné in £52m Deal

Chelsea are on the verge of completing a deal to bring France international Manu Koné to Stamford Bridge from Roma, with a fee of around £52 million under discussion, according to Sky in Italy.
Koné is understood to be earmarked as a replacement for Enzo Fernandez, who is in advanced talks over a transfer to Manchester City.
The two clubs are also exploring a loan arrangement that would see winger Jamie Gittens move in the opposite direction, from Chelsea to Roma.
Koné had previously attracted interest from Manchester United before Roma emerged as his destination following his departure from Borussia Mönchengladbach. A move to west London would represent a significant step up for the 23-year-old midfielder.
