Chukwueze Hip Injury Threatens Weeks on the Sidelines for AC Milan

2 hours ago·1 min

AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze is facing a potentially lengthy spell on the sidelines after sustaining a hip injury that has already forced him to miss training.

The 27-year-old was absent from Wednesday's morning session at Milanello, with Milan preparing for their UEFA Europa League encounter against Bournemouth. Chukwueze experienced discomfort in his left hip, prompting the club to arrange a specialist consultation to assess the full extent of the problem.

Reports from Sport Mediaset indicate that Milan fear the injury could be serious, with the winger potentially sidelined for several weeks — or even months — depending on the outcome of the examination.

Encouraging start now under threat

The setback arrives at a frustrating moment for Chukwueze, who had hit the ground running since returning from a loan stint at Fulham. Under the guidance of manager Ruben Amorim, the Nigeria international had contributed two assists in eight appearances across all competitions for the Rossoneri this season.

Should he be ruled out for an extended period, Milan would lose one of their more dynamic attacking options at a critical stage of the campaign.

Deepening injury concerns at San Siro

Chukwueze's potential absence compounds an already difficult situation for Milan, who are managing the long-term injury of Alexis Saelemaekers. The Belgian winger recently underwent ankle surgery and is not expected to return for at least five months, leaving Amorim short of options on the flanks.

The club will await the results of Chukwueze's specialist assessment before providing a clearer timeline on his recovery.
