Samuel Chukwueze has joined the Super Eagles in Leiria, boosting the squad's numbers to 22 players ahead of the international friendly against Portugal next week.

The AC Milan winger had been absent from Nigeria's recent fixtures — including the Unity Cup and the friendly against Poland — following the death and burial of his mother. His return is a welcome sight for coach Éric Chelle, who will be pleased to have the pacey wide man available.

Chukwueze is expected to feature in the team's training session on Friday as he looks to regain his match sharpness.
