Cole Palmer's afternoon took a dramatic turn when the Chelsea midfielder was dismissed after picking up a second yellow card during the club's Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur.

Palmer, who had already been cautioned earlier in the match, was shown a second booking that left Chelsea reduced to ten men — a hammer blow to their chances in a difficult London derby.

The dismissal left Chelsea facing an uphill battle for the remainder of the contest, with Tottenham Hotspur well placed to capitalise on the numerical advantage.
