The latest episode of BBC Sport Football's European football podcast brings together John Bennett, James Horncastle — back from a trip to Como — and Julien Laurens for a wide-ranging conversation covering one of the week's most stunning results, a major injury blow, and a marquee weekend ahead.

Como's remarkable win over Manchester United

The headline act is Como's extraordinary midweek victory over Manchester United, a scoreline that caught the football world off guard. The team showed plenty of love for the Italian side, and the episode features a contribution from Como manager Cesc Fabregas, who spoke about the result and his project at the club.

Horncastle, fresh from visiting the picturesque Lake Como club in person, added an unexpected touch of Hollywood glamour to proceedings — Superman himself was reportedly spotted in the stands during the match, giving the occasion an almost surreal edge.

Who could replace Carrick at Manchester United?

With speculation swirling around Michael Carrick's future at Manchester United, the trio surveyed the landscape of available managers across Europe. Antonio Conte was among the names to come up as a potential candidate should the position become vacant.

Kvaratskhelia injury concern for PSG

Attention then shifted to Paris Saint-Germain, where an injury to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has raised serious concerns about the club's season. The panel discussed the significance of the Georgian winger's absence and what it could mean for PSG's ambitions in the weeks ahead.

Serie A and Ligue 1 title races tighten

The podcast also took a close look at both Serie A and Ligue 1, where the races at the summit remain remarkably tight. With several clubs still in contention, the top of both tables promises plenty of drama as the season progresses.

PSV Eindhoven v Feyenoord and El Clásico previewed

Looking ahead to the weekend, Dutch football expert Marcel van Der Kraan joined the show to preview the top-of-the-table clash between PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord — a fixture that could have a significant say in the Eredivisie title race. The episode rounds off with a preview of El Clásico, one of world football's most anticipated fixtures.
