Crystal Palace Sign American Teenage Prospect Zavier Gozo for £11m

Crystal Palace have completed the signing of teenage forward Zavier Gozo from Real Salt Lake, with the deal reported to be worth $15 million (£11.08 million) and the 19-year-old committing to a five-year contract at Selhurst Park, subject to international clearance.

Gozo joined the Real Salt Lake academy in 2021 and wasted little time making an impression, becoming a Major League Soccer debutant at just 16 years of age in October 2023. This season, he has contributed six goals and four assists across RSL's opening 16 league matches — a return impressive enough to earn him a place in the MLS All-Star Game.

Born in Utah, Gozo has represented the United States at every youth level through to the under-23s, establishing himself as one of the most highly regarded young American footballers in the domestic game.

The move makes him Crystal Palace's sixth addition of the summer transfer window. He joins Oscar Mingueza, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Dwight McNeil, Evann Guessand, and Anan Khalaili as new arrivals at the club.

Palace open their Premier League campaign on Saturday against Everton (15:00 BST), as new head coach Pierre Sage takes charge of his first top-flight fixture with the club.
