RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande has agreed personal terms with Real Madrid after Paris Saint-Germain pulled out of the running for the highly coveted Ivory Coast teenager.

The 19-year-old was previously pursued by Liverpool, whose opening bid of £69 million was turned away in June. Paris Saint-Germain also came calling, but both clubs have since moved on — Liverpool to other targets, and PSG after walking away from what would have been an escalating bidding war.

PSG are reported to have had a final offer of £102.5 million rejected on Sunday before deciding against further pursuit. Real Madrid moved quickly thereafter, securing an agreement on personal terms with Diomande — a contract reportedly structured in the mould of Jude Bellingham's deal at the club, with performance-based incentives that grow year-on-year.

A fee north of £100 million

Real Madrid are set to pay in excess of £100 million for Diomande, who arrived at Leipzig from Spanish side Leganes last summer on a five-year contract. Sources close to the club indicate that key scouts Jose Angel and Juni Calafat have tracked the winger for roughly five years, with their interest predating his performances at the World Cup.

Leipzig made every effort to retain Diomande in Germany, but the club acknowledges that the level of interest — and the potential record transfer fee on the table — has been extraordinary and exceptionally difficult to refuse.

A remarkable rise

Diomande's trajectory has been swift and striking. He left his native Ivory Coast in 2025 to join an academy in the United States before crossing the Atlantic to link up with Leganes in Spain. His move to Leipzig followed, and it took little time for the winger to announce himself at the highest level.

He was named the Bundesliga's young player of the season for 2025-26, having contributed 12 goals and eight assists across the campaign — numbers that drew attention from clubs across Europe and ultimately secured his place at the Santiago Bernabéu.
