Doma United Fined ₦5.25m and Banned From Three Home Matches After Supporter Violence

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has handed Doma United a ₦5.25 million fine and a three-match home stadium ban after supporters of the club were found to have breached security protocols during their Matchday Nine fixture against Kun Khalifat FC.
The match, held at the Pantami Stadium last Saturday, finished 1-1, but the events after the final whistle overshadowed the result. Doma United supporters allegedly attacked Kun Khalifat FC technical adviser Obinna Uzoho and directed hostile behaviour toward match officials and members of the visiting team — conduct the NPFL deemed capable of bringing the game into disrepute.
As a result of the violence and the club's failure to maintain adequate security, the Savannah Scorpions have been ordered to play their next three home matches behind closed doors. The sanction follows what the league described as repeated security breaches by the club.
The match commissioner on duty that day also faces consequences, having been recommended for demotion to a lower division over alleged dereliction of duty, inadequate supervision, and insufficient match reporting.
Alongside the financial penalty and the stadium ban, the NPFL has issued Doma United a formal warning to reinforce security arrangements and educate their supporters on acceptable standards of conduct. The league cautioned that any further violation of its rules could result in even harsher measures.
Doma United have a 48-hour window from the date of notification to file an appeal against the sanctions.
